We invented the word 'Polandian' rather than use 'Polander' or 'Polonia' because, collectively, we are neither of those things. Some of us are Polish and some British (with no Polish roots). I like to think the word 'Polandian' suggests non-Poles who live in Poland or have some close affinity with the place as well as Poles (not Polonia) who speak English or have some close affinity with the UK or other English-speaking countries. Sorry if it caused offense, it certainly wasn't intended to. And it certainly isn't an ill-informed error.
